So this is how it is. This goes for whole Estee Lauder companies which includes MAC.
EL companies does not test on animals if not required by law.
I’ve tried to google this before but no one seems to get the whole story. Anyways, I’ve gotten this explained to me since I nicely asked what the poop is going on here… I actually have cried over this and felt ill and so bad about it that I almost considered quitting my job. That is not an option for me though.ANYWAYS.

This is only in China. Because their law requires that some products are tested on animals. This is something EL companies are doing their best to change this an do not promote animal testing in any way!
Just think for one minute, because this is what popped into my head. This must mean that almost every single cosmetic brand in China tests on animals?. I don’t know what products are tested but uhmn. Sneaky.
Does anyone know how to help with this law changing? If there is anything I as a individual can do?
Also. I will keep on working for MAC since we're trying to change this and I understand that MAC wants to sell in China as well. I love my MAC family and will do my best if I in any way can help with changing this! Go to china and do some protesting :D No I can't do that but please. If you know anything that a tiny person can do, please write :)
Oh yes, if you still have questions about this, please message me and I'll do my very best to get answers!
Seriously, all this "animal testing law" besides being HORRIBLE is just stupid. China makes cosmetics for exportation with industrial doses of chemicals and doesn't give a damn about it, doesn't even test on animals (that would be even worst) and a lot of people get terrible skin reactions thanks to it. I just can't stand selfish and fake companies (not talking about MAC, just those really cheap cosmetic chinese brands, of course), in this case also selfish, fake and manipulative governments.
SvaraRaderaThe thing with animal testing is really sneaky, there are many many companies who write "not tested on animals" on their products but then again, they refer to the finished product only and not to all the ingredients they used.. and this happens pretty much everywhere, not only in China. Luckily the companies doing so are getting less and less :)
SvaraRaderaLike the lady above here said it's just stupid that China has such laws 'cause they just produce cosmetics throwing whatever in them, even toxic or harmful substances (especially when it comes about nail polishes). I'm afraid there is not so much people can do about it. The only thing we can really do as individuals is avoid using all those Chinese cosmetics (and the companies that test on animals)and try to get into people's minds that you really HAVE to care about this,it's something you put on your face and that goes anyway into your body, for heaven's sake! Many people think it's just "powder" and that it's not dangerous 'cause you're not eating it.
I know for a fact that mac and the other estee lauder company doesn't ^-^they don't ask other to test for the either. I know it's a very sneaky business though and I really hope we can find a way to . Yeh I really don't understand how they can have such a law :( also I don't understand how mac could decide to not care about it it makes me really sad. although I'm glad they are fighting it!

Man tycker ju att du bore prioretera djurens välmående istället for pengar :(.
RaderaI'm really glad you wrote your point of view on this, I'd been hearing a lot online about this issue and didn't really know how I can be sure that they don't test, or if the money I would be paying would go towards Estee Lauder as well. It really is disappointing news, though, because, I've been wanting to buy a MAC Viva Glam lipstick to help out with the AIDS foundation, but now I'm not so sure I can do that. Again, thanks for the tip Angela and if I hear about ways we can all get involved besides calling in and asking them to not test on animals at all, I'll definitely drop you a line [=
SvaraRaderaThis is incredibly sad, and because of this i will stop buying from mac.. which is even sadder because it was my only trusted makeup brand =(
SvaraRaderaThanks for the infos
Just a little fyi,, it wont make any difference unless you use products from china. Not buying from other countries is not goning to help the matter it stinks but that's the way it is :/
SvaraRaderaHi, I don't know if you speak french, but here an intersting link about some news...
SvaraRaderaChina is in the way to accept to use an another way to test products that on animals... thanks PETA !
